Masks Are No Longer Required Outdoors

Governor Roy Cooper's executive order loosened some COVID-19 restrictions in North Carolina as masks are no longer required outdoors and the capacity limit for mass gatherings has increased, as stated by the WFMY News 2 article titled "Executive Order Eases Mask Restrictions, People No Longer Need to Wear Them Outdoors"
. While masks are no longer required outside, people still need to wear one indoors, and it is recommended to wear one in crowded areas.
Gov. Cooper loosened some restrictions while 40% of the state's population is fully vaccinated and promised to lift more restrictions if two-thirds of the state is vaccinated. The governor's executive order has been met with praise from residents in downtown Greensboro that said the move is a sign of progress. Elizabeth Musgrove, a Greensboro resident, said she is looking forward to having family over for the Fourth of July.
Mass gatherings were increased to 100 people indoors and 200 people outdoors, while capacity limits for businesses stayed the same. Although restrictions have loosened, some have said they plan to keep wearing a mask for the foreseeable future.
