An article by WFMY News about the COVID-19 vaccinations
at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex followed the vaccination process and gave updates on available appointments. On January 19th, the Cone Health clinic opened the registration for a large-scale vaccination event at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. People aged 65 and older could make an appointment by calling the Cone Health contact number or by completing the registration process online on the Cone Health Website
. Health officials have been clear in saying that walk-ins won't be accepted unless they need medical assistance, so the registration process is imperative for people to get access to the vaccine.
The first event would offer 500 doses so people could get the first shot of the Pfizer vaccine. Concerning the second dose, DeAnne Brooks, Chief Pharmacy Officer with Cone Health, says, "We are keeping a total tally of the first doses that we are giving people to ensure that people have second doses."
The 19,000 appointments available were booked in a matter of hours, covering all the vaccinations scheduled for the next few weeks and up until the end of February. A similar scenario took place with the Guilford County Health Department's vaccinations, which they are now waiting for a new shipment to arrive before reopening the appointments.
